Automatic Torque Balance for Magnetic Anisotropy Measurements

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1959
An automatic torque balance for the determination of magnetic anisotropy in ferromagnetic single crystals is described. The balance consists of a mechanical coupling between a solenoid suspended in a static magnetic field and a single crystal specimen.

Input torque balancing of linkages

Mechanism and Machine Theory, 1989
Abstract A new method, on balancing input torques of linkages, called the method of integration and elimination (MIE) is introduced in this paper. The fluctuation part of the friction torque can be separated by the method. Thus, not only the inertia input torque can be balanced, but also the fluctuation caused by gravity and friction can be ...

Torque Balanced Wire Rope

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1981
<div class="htmlview paragraph">Basic knowledge of the characteristics of wire rope have been utilized to design a completely torque blanced product. Test results showing the improved properties of this product are presented, along with recommendations for use in boom support pendants and as a hoist line.</div>

Optimization of torque‐balanced asymmetric head gradient coils

Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, 1996
AbstractLocal gradient coils can improve the performance of echo‐planar, diffusion, and short TE imaging in the brain. A modified singular value decomposition algorithm, which allows the rapid optimization and comparison of designs, was employed to optimize head size gradient coils.

Forces, Torques, Balances

2015
In this chapter, we discuss the representation of material interactions in continuous bodies with shape described just by their location in space. We consider the velocity of a material point and the power needed to move it as primitive quantities, so that a force appears as the entity furnishing that power when evaluated over the assigned velocity. We
