Contactless measurement of torque

Mechatronics, 2000
Abstract This paper describes a micromechanical sensor for contactless detection of torque at rotating shafts. The sensor consists of a silicon chip and uses a magnetoelastic principle for measurement. A closed magnetic loop is formed by the sensor chip and a magnetoelastic layer which is applied to the shaft.

Measurement of the Casimir torque

Nature, 2018
Intermolecular forces are pervasive in nature and give rise to various phenomena including surface wetting1, adhesive forces in biology2,3, and the Casimir effect4, which causes two charge-neutral, metal objects in vacuum to attract each other.

Torque measurement system design

2008 IEEE International Conference on Automation, Quality and Testing, Robotics, 2008
In this paper we present the electronic circuits design used in a torque measurement system. The torque measurement system has two parts: a rotating one (the transmitter) and a fixed one (the receiver). The information about torque, fetched from a strain gage bridge is processed and sent to a receiver by a rotating transformer. The rotating transformer

Torque measurement

2023
There are many ways of measuring torque in electrical machines. Recent advances in transducer technologies means that measurement of torque will be more precise and easy. Traditionally, slip rings have been used for telemetering for measurement on meters and microcomputer systems.
