Control for high momentary torque from vector-controlled induction machines

2015 IEEE International Electric Machines & Drives Conference (IEMDC), 2015
This paper assesses short-term induction motor torque capabilities and investigates field-weakening strategies to provide high momentary torque via vector controllers. Scalar controllers reduce voltage below the base speed to avoid magnetic saturation and do not completely utilize the available dc bus voltage.

A Feedback Control Strategy for Torque-Vectoring of IWM Vehicles

Volume 3: 16th International Conference on Advanced Vehicle Technologies; 11th International Conference on Design Education; 7th Frontiers in Biomedical Devices, 2014
In last decades hybrid and electric vehicles have been one of the main object of study for automotive industry. Among the different layout of the electric power-train, four in-wheel motors appear to be one of the most attractive. This configuration in fact has several advantages in terms of inner room increase and mass distribution.

Direct Torque with Fuzzy Logic Torque Ripple Reduction Based Stator Flux Vector Control

2009 Second International Conference on Computer and Electrical Engineering, 2009
The major disadvantages of the conventional direct torque control (DTC) drive is the steady state ripples in torque and flux Using space vector control (SVM) method reduce the torque and stator flux ripples. In this paper, the use of SVM technique, a torque fuzzy controller is proposed to improve DTC performance and reduce significantly torque ripple ...

Cyclogyro Thrust Vectoring for Anti-Torque and Control of Helicopter

Proceedings of the Vertical Flight Society 70th Annual Forum, 2014
This work discusses the possibility to use the cycloidal rotor technology to provide anti-torque to otherwise conventional helicopter designs. A simple analytical model of cycloidal rotor aeromechanics is provided to support its sizing. The analytical model is validated using other approaches of increasing complexity and experimental results ...

Instantaneous power control-an alternative to vector and direct torque control?

Conference Record of the 2000 IEEE Industry Applications Conference. Thirty-Fifth IAS Annual Meeting and World Conference on Industrial Applications of Electrical Energy (Cat. No.00CH37129), 2002
This paper presents a new algorithm for the control of AC machines based on the concept of controlling the instantaneous real and imaginary power. This strategy, called instantaneous power control (IPC), allows decoupled control of the torque and flux in the machine.

Direct torque control, induction motor vector control without an encoder

Conference Record of 1996 Annual Pulp and Paper Industry Technical Conference, 1997
The basic evolution of direct torque control from other drive types is explained. Qualitative comparisons with other drives are included. The basic concepts behind direct torque control are clarified. An explanation of direct self control and the field-orientation concepts implemented in the adaptive motor model block is presented.

Direct torque control of induction machines using space vector modulation

Conference Record of the 1991 IEEE Industry Applications Society Annual Meeting, 1992
A direct induction machine torque control method based on predictive, deadbeat control of the torque and flux is presented. By estimating the synchronous speed and the voltage behind the transient reactance, the change in torque and flux over the switching period is calculated.

Sensorless Vector and Direct Torque Control

1998
Abstract This is the first comprehensive book on sensor less high performance a.c. drives. It is essential reading for anyone interested in acquiring a solid background on sensor less torque-controlled drives. It presents a detailed and unified treatment of sensor less vector-controlled and direct-torque controlled drive systems.
