Finiteness of Total Cross-Sections [PDF]

open access: yes, 1981
We derive an optimal condition for the finiteness of total cross-sections in potential scattering at any given energy, and by copying Froissart’s trick for elementary particles, explicit bounds on amplitudes and cross-sections in the spherically symmetric case.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Comparison of Cross-Sections of Different Femoral Components for Revision Total Knee Replacement

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Surgery, 2012
Purpose. To compare the inner contour of the femoral component of 10 total knee replacement (TKR) designs for possible exchange in use. Methods. Inner contours of the femoral components of 10 cemented, cruciate-retaining TKR designs (e.motion, Genesis ...

Total reaction and fusion cross sections at sub- and near-barrier energies for the system7Li +28Si

open access: yes, 2009
Fusion cross sections are extracted for the 7Li$ + $28Si system, via reaction cross section and transfer measurements at sub- and near-barrier energies ( E lab = 5.7 to 14MeV).

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Reactions with light exotic nuclei

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2014
Experimental cross sections for the 6He+120Sn are analysed. Elastic scattering angular distributions and alpha particle production cross sections have been measured and are compared with the total reaction cross sections.

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Total and Double Differential Scattering Cross-Section Measurements of Isotropic Graphite [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
The total and double differential scattering cross sections (DDSCS) of isotropic graphite have been measured in the J-PARC Materials and Life Science Experimental Facility using five samples with different porosities and grain sizes.

Correlations between total cross sections and slopes

open access: yes, 2015
We investigate correlations between the total cross section and the slope of the elastic differential cross section for proton-proton and antiproton-proton scattering at the highest energies.

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...
