AN ANALYSIS OF THE TOTAL PHYSICAL RESPONSE METHOD LEARNING [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
The title of this Independent Research is An Analysis of The Total Physical Response Method Learning. In this method we will consider a new general approach to foreign language instruction which has been named “ the comprehension approach.” It is called ...

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Total Quality Management in Library and Information Sectors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The concept of quality management originated in Japan and later moved into the USA and other countries industry. Since then, the theory of quality management has been growing fast. TQM was initially applied as a management philosophy in the manufacturing

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Structural Health Monitoring Using Lamb Wave Reflections and Total Focusing Method for Image Reconstruction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
This investigation aimed to adapt the total focusing method (TFM) algorithm (originated form the synthetic aperture technique in digital signal processing) to accommodate a circular array of piezoelectric sensors (PZT) and characterise defects using ...

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

A real-time implementation of the Total Focusing Method for rapid and precise diagnostic in non destructive evaluation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
International audienceThis paper describes a multi-FPGA architecture dedicated for the real-time imaging using the Total Focusing Method (TFM) and an advanced acquisition technique called the Full Matrix Capture (FMC).

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Full-Matrix Imaging in Fourier Domain towards Ultrasonic Inspection with Wide-Angle Oblique Incidence for Welded Structures

open access: yesSensors
The total focusing method (TFM) has been increasingly applied to weld inspection given its high image quality and defect sensitivity. Oblique incidence is widely used to steer the beam effectively, considering the defect orientation and structural ...
