The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Routing model of sediment yield for a representative Himalayan drainage Basin, India

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Geography, 2013
For a large watersheds sediment yield can be more accurately estimated if the large watersheds is divided into sub-watersheds to compensate for non-uniformly distributed sediment sources. The effect of drainage basin hydraulics can be included by routing

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

The adsorption efficiency of nitrogen and phosphorus by in-situ remediation of modified sediment composite material

open access: yesWater Science and Technology, 2021
Dredged sediment can occupy a large amount of land area, resulting in waste of land resources, and high disposal costs. In response to the problem, this work calcinates and modified the sediment and compounds it with the modified water purification plant

Modelling sediment supply and transport in the River Lugg: strategies for controlling sediment loads [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The River Lugg has particular problems with high sediment loads that have resulted in detrimental impacts on ecology and fisheries. A new dynamic, process-based model of hydrology and sediments (INCA- SED) has been developed and applied to the River Lugg

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Contribution of Wash and Channel Sediment Sources in Supplying Storm Suspended Sediment Load in the Galazchai Watershed [PDF]

open access: yesمهندسی منابع آب, 2018
Suspended sediment generation is a predominant process in most watersheds, which has an important role in total sediment yield reached the main outlet of the watershed. However, the determination of contribution of main sediment sources in the watersheds,
