Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Emergence of bla NDM-5-carrying Pseudescherichia vulneris and Pantoea dispersa isolated from the veterinary hospital environment

open access: yesOne Health Advances
The emergence of carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales (CRE) poses a critical threat to global health security. Veterinary hospitals may serve as potential hotspots for antimicrobial resistance (AMR) gene dissemination, yet surveillance in these ...

Matrices totally positive relative to a tree, II [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
If T is a labelled tree, a matrix A is totally positive relative to T , principal submatrices of A associated with deletion of pendent vertices of T are P-matrices, and A has positive determinant, then the smallest absolute eigenvalue of A is positive ...

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Totally positive bases and progressive iteration approximation

open access: yes, 2005
In this paper, we study the progressive iteration approximation property of a curve (tensor product surface) generated by blending a given data point set and a set of basis functions.

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Effect of two different dietary endo-1,4-β-xylanases on growth performance, intestinal histomorphology, caecal microbial population and short-chain fatty acid composition of broiler chickens

open access: yesItalian Journal of Animal Science
Effects of two different dietary xylanases on broiler performance and gut integrity were determined. Totally, 7600-d-old Ross-308 chicks were used for 41 d.

Totally nonnegative matrices

open access: yes, 1999
An m-by-n matrix A is called totally nonnegative (resp. totally positive) if the determinant of every square submatrix (i.e., minor) of A is nonnegative (resp. positive).

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Estimation of the covariance matrix of a Gaussian Markov Random Field under a total positivity constraint

open access: yesJournal of Computational and Applied Mathematics
Gaussian Markov Random Fields are a popular statistical model that has been used successfully in many fields of application. Recent work has studied conditions under which the covariance matrix of a Gaussian Markov Random Field over a graph of paths is totally positive.
