Longitudinal evaluation of the treatment priority index (TPI)
American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, 1989The Treatment Priority Index (TPI) is an epidemiologic tool used to rank malocclusions and assess the need for orthodontic treatment. The purpose of this study was to (1) evaluate the predictability of the TPI as an indicator of malocclusion severity, (2) evaluate the effect of orthodontic treatment on TPI values, and (3) compare the results with a ...

STATISTICAL ASPECTS OF THE TREPONEMAL COUNTS IN THE TPI TEST
Acta Pathologica Microbiologica Scandinavica Section B Microbiology, 1978A method of counting treponemes in randomly selected visual fields is described. It was found that Treponema pallidum is distributed as a Poisson distribution among the visual fields and also among samples drawn from the same suspension. Immobilized treponemes are binomially distributed among the total number of treponemes.
