The catch of the day: The shortcomings of promoting sustainable seafood consumption in Peru
This study investigates the meaning and application of “catch of the day” in Peru by analyzing 233 news articles and genetically testing 43 fish samples from restaurants. Results show that media frequently use the term as a vague marketing phrase, while genetic testing reveals a 60% mislabeling rate. These findings suggest that “catch of the day” lacks

Mechanical Strength of the Interfibrillar Matrix in Horse Mackerel(Trachurus murphyi) Tissue.
A transparent testing cell was constructed to assess flow of fish tissue during a compression-back extrusion mechanical assay. The net action of the plunger over the fiber-interfibrillar collagen matrix appears to involve flow of intact fibers due to yield of the matrix as well as compression resisted by fibers. The force at yield point F (N) coincided

Fisheries Trade and Blue Nutrient Flows in Pacific Island Countries
ABSTRACT Pacific Island Countries (PICs) are located in highly productive fishing regions that supply nutrient‐rich fish to global markets. Marine fisheries are a critical source of protein and essential micronutrients for billions of people worldwide, supporting both local diets and global food security.

Governmentality and Risk: Managing ‘Ocean Space’
The term ‘fisheries management’ at first glance seems to be a reasonably unproblematic one. It implies that firstly, that there are resources called fish, and secondly, that these resources called fish can be harvested and managed. So far, so good. Next,

ABSTRACT The northern Humboldt Current System (nHCS) has high environmental variability that impacts key demographic and community‐scale processes. Understanding the role and ecological implications of these interannual or long‐term events is crucial in describing the dynamics of the nHCS community. Using catch data from pelagic assessment surveys from
