Longitudinal genome‐wide aneuploidy measurements in circulating cell‐free DNA to predict lack of benefit from pembrolizumab in patients with metastatic urothelial cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Many patients with urothelial cancer do not benefit from treatment with pembrolizumab, while at risk of severe side effects. Changes in the levels of circulating tumor DNA early during treatment, measured by a simple and affordable assay that can be easily implemented in the clinic, can be used as a prognostic tool to identify these patients.

Spatial and single‐nuclei transcriptomics reveals idiosyncratic and generic patterns in papillary and anaplastic thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Matched spatial transcriptomics and single‐nuclei RNA‐seq were generated for anaplastic and BRAFV600E papillary thyroid cancers revealing generic and tumor‐specific states occurring in cancer cells and in the tumor microenvironment. In this context, cancer dedifferentiation mirrored organoid maturation through ordered thyroid marker gain/loss ...

Designing a system of electronic training materials for remote post-training support for corporate training

open access: yesRUDN Journal of Informatization in Education, 2020
Problem and goal. The article describes how to organize electronic training materials for post-training support. The relevance of the article is determined, on the one hand, by the external needs to expand the sphere of education, the tasks of further ...

Circulating microRNA signatures of cachexia and cancer in Canis familiaris as a comparative oncology model for human disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating microRNAs as biomarkers of cachexia and sex‐specific cancer in senior dogs. In 25 client‐owned dogs, four circulating miRNAs (miR‐15a, miR‐15b, miR‐16, miR‐140) were downregulated in cachexia, with miR‐16 the strongest individual biomarker (AUC = 0.899).

Development of methodological guidance, publication standards and training materials for realist and meta-narrative reviews: the RAMESES (Realist And Meta-narrative Evidence Syntheses – Evolving Standards) project

open access: yes, 2014
Background There is growing interest in theory-driven, qualitative and mixed-method approaches to systematic review, such as realist and meta-narrative review.

Viscoelasticty with physics-augmented neural networks: model formulation and training methods without prescribed internal variables [PDF]

open access: yesComputational Mechanics
We present an approach for the data-driven modeling of nonlinear viscoelastic materials at small strains which is based on physics-augmented neural networks (NNs) and requires only stress and strain paths for training.

Preoperative circulating tumor cells integrated with imaging analysis for prognostic evaluation in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Detecting circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in blood before surgery may help predict outcomes in patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Here, we show when combined with tumor size and lymph node involvement from routine imaging, CTC status identifies high‐risk patients with poorer survival—offering a simple, minimally invasive tool ...

Oxidation behaviour of an AlCrFeNiSi-based high-entropy alloy bond coat designed with the CALPHAD approach

open access: yesnpj Materials Degradation
In this study, equilibrium and non-equilibrium (Scheil) solidification phase diagrams were simulated to identify an optimised AlxCrFeNiSiy high-entropy alloy (HEA) composition aimed at promoting simple solid-solution phases while minimising undesirable ...

Wedge Surface Plasmon Polariton Waveguides Based on Wet-Bulk Micromachining

open access: yesPhotonics, 2019
In this paper, we propose and investigate the modal characteristics of wedge surface plasmon polariton (SPP) waveguides for guiding surface plasmon waves.
