Invisible but not inaccessible—Revealing transient oligomers formed by intrinsically disordered proteins with solution NMR and complementary methods

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Transient oligomers formed by intrinsically disordered proteins may be ‘invisible’ to direct detection yet remain accessible to solution NMR through equilibrium‐exchange measurements and pressure‐jump experiments. Complementary methods report on mass, stoichiometry, selected distance distributions, morphology, and internal packing.

Association between hemoglobin-to-red blood cell distribution width ratio trajectory patterns and in-hospital mortality in critically ill patients with cirrhosis: a retrospective cohort study based on MIMIC-IV and eICU-CRD

open access: yesBMC Medical Informatics and Decision Making
Background Critically ill patients with cirrhosis face an elevated risk of mortality. The hemoglobin-to-red blood cell distribution width ratio (HRR) has emerged as a potential biomarker in various critical illnesses. However, the prognostic significance

Group-based trajectory modeling under non-random attrition: A sensitivity analysis and application to frailty trajectories

open access: yesMethods in Psychology
Group-based trajectory modeling (GBTM) is used to identify trajectories but suffers from attrition bias when dropout is non-random. We evaluate an extended GBTM that models attrition as a latent-class process.

TCSC control design for transient stability improvement of a multi-machine power system using trajectory sensitivity

open access: yes, 2007
This paper discusses the effects of thyristor controlled series compensator (TCSC), a series FACTS controller, on the transient stability of a power system.

In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Fluid balance trajectories and prognosis in patients with acute myocardial infarction complicated by cardiogenic shock: a group-based trajectory model approach

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine
BackgroundFluid management is crucial in the treatment of patients with acute myocardial infarction complicated by cardiogenic shock (AMI-CS), yet the optimal strategy remains unclear. This study aims to evaluate the association between fluid balance (FB)

Intrapatient tumour heterogeneity and clonal evolution in an autopsy study of metastatic salivary gland cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumour heterogeneity and clonal evolution of metastatic salivary gland cancer were evaluated in two patients with adenoid carcinoma and one patient with myoepithelial carcinoma. Radiology‐guided autopsy enabled multi‐region sampling (total samples n = 149), followed by whole‐genome sequencing and phylogenetic reconstruction (17 tumour samples, 4–7 per ...

Application of Trajectory Sensitivity for the Evaluation of the Effect of TCSC Placement on Transient Stability [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This paper investigates the use of trajectory sensitivity analysis (TSA) technique for assessing the transient stability of a power system at various operating conditions.

Gut microbiota alterations in patients with non‐small‐cell lung cancer undergoing chemoradiotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We investigated the impact of concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CRT) on the gut microbiota in patients with locally advanced non‐small‐cell lung cancer. Overall gut microbiota composition remained largely stable throughout CRT while antibiotic exposure may influence microbial diversity.
