Trans-Anethole Alleviates Trimethyltin Chloride-Induced Impairments in Long-Term Potentiation

open access: yesPharmaceutics, 2022
Trans-anethole is an aromatic compound that has been studied for its anti-inflammation, anticonvulsant, antinociceptive, and anticancer effects. A recent report found that trans-anethole exerted neuroprotective effects on the brain via multiple pathways.

Staphyloxanthin inhibitory potential of trans-anethole: A preliminary study

open access: yesBiomedicine & Pharmacotherapy, 2023
The reduction of staphyloxanthin (STX) production in Staphylococcus aureus under trans-anethole (TA) influence was proven in former studies. However, no tests concerning the impact of TA on a biosynthetic pathway of this carotenoid pigment have been published so far.

Combinations of plant essential oils and their major compositions inducing mortality and morphological abnormality of Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus

open access: yesHeliyon, 2022
Extensive uses of synthetic insecticides to control mosquito's populations have induced the insects to develop resistance against them, rendering them ineffective today. Moreover, they cause serious impacts on human health and the ecosystem.

The trans-Anethole Degradation Pathway in an Arthrobacter sp. [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 2002
A bacterial strain (TA13) capable of utilizing t-anethole as the sole carbon source was isolated from soil. The strain was identified as Arthrobacter aurescens based on its 16 S rRNA gene sequence. Key steps of the degradation pathway of t-anethole were identified by the use of t-anethole-blocked mutants and specific inducible enzymatic activities.

Immunomodulatory effects of trans-anethole-treated Staphylococcus aureus Newman strain

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
AbstractIn our former studies based on a human whole-blood model infected with trans-anethole (TA)-treated Staphylococcus aureus Newman strain, we have observed that selected parameters/mechanisms of innate and acquired immune response were more enhanced in comparison to samples infected with non-treated bacteria.

Anti-depressive-like effect of monoterpene trans-anethole via monoaminergic pathways

open access: yesSaudi Journal of Biological Sciences, 2022
Trans-anethole (ANE) is a monoterpene present in many aromatic plants, especially Pimpinella anisum (PA). In this regard, we previously reported the anti-depressant potential of PA. Here, we examined the anti-depressant activity of ANE and its possible mechanism in mice.

Interaction effects of cerium oxide nanoparticles and trans-anethole on improving the function of damaged sciatic nerve in rat model [PDF]

open access: yesمجله علوم پزشکی فیض (پیوسته), 2023
Background: Sciatica is a peripheral nervous system disorder that affects many people throughout the world. New therapeutic approaches such as nanomedicines and plant derivatives with less side effects can be used to improve nerve tissue.

New studies on trans-anethole oxide and trans-asarone oxide [PDF]

open access: yesCarcinogenesis, 1999
The widespread use of naturally occurring alkenylbenzenes as flavoring and fragrance agents has led to a long-standing interest in their toxicity and carcinogenicity. Among them several allyl- and propenylbenzenes have been found to be mutagenic and carcinogenic.
