Harp: optimization algorithm for cross-domain distributed transactions

open access: yes大数据, 2023
The paradigm of near-data computing has driven banks and securities firms to build multiple data centers globally or nationally. In the traditional business model, transactions focused on accessing data within a single data center. With the changing ...

RAD50 missense variants differentially affect the DNA damage response and mitotic progression

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
RAD50 incorporates into the MRN complex and initiates the DNA damage response. Furthermore, RAD50 promotes mitotic progression. RAD50 missense variants capable of forming an MRN complex supported the DNA damage response and mitotic features to different extents in complementation experiments, indicating these functions are separable and might impact ...

Preemptive Software Transactional Memory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In state-of-the-art Software Transactional Memory (STM) systems, threads carry out the execution of transactions as non-interruptible tasks. Hence, a thread can react to the injection of a higher priority transactional task and take care of its ...

Plasmodium falciparum gametogenesis essential protein 1 (GEP1) is a transmission‐blocking target

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study shows Plasmodium falciparum GEP1 is vital for activating sexual stages of malarial parasites even independently of a mosquito factor. Knockout parasites completely fail gamete formation even when a phosphodiesterase inhibitor is added. Two single‐nucleotide polymorphisms (V241L and S263P) are found in 12%–20% of field samples.

ISTVP: Independent single transaction verification protocol for light node using fraud proofs without collaborator

open access: yesIET Blockchain
Most blockchain users run light nodes on mobile devices. Due to limited storage and computation, light nodes cannot perform transaction validation. This shortage makes opportunities for malicious nodes to produce blocks containing invalid transactions ...

The IQ‐compete assay for measuring mitochondrial protein import efficiencies in living yeast cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The efficiency of mitochondrial protein import depends on the properties of the newly synthesized precursor proteins. The Import and de‐Quenching Competition (IQ‐compete) assay is a novel method to monitor the import efficiency of different proteins by fluorescence in living yeast cells.
