Development and Validation of Machine Learning‐Based Marker for Early Detection and Prognosis Stratification of Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study constructs a stacked multimodal machine learning model for nonalcoholic fattly liver disease (NAFLD) by integrating genetic and clinical features, and synthesize an in‐silico quantitative marker (ISNLD) that enables personalized risk stratification for intrahepatic and extrahepatic outcomes of high‐risk individuals of NAFLD.

Structural Basis of the Substrate Range and Enantioselectivity of Two (S)-Selective ω-Transaminases.

open access: yesBiochemistry, 2016
ω-Transaminases are enzymes that can introduce an amino group in industrially interesting compounds. We determined crystal structures of two (S)-selective ω-transaminases, one from Arthrobacter sp.

Alnustone Ameliorates Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Steatotic Liver Disease by Facilitating Mitochondrial Fatty Acid β‐Oxidation via Targeting Calmodulin

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies alnustone, a natural compound from Alpinia katsumadai, as a potent therapeutic agent for MASLD and MASH. Alnustone enhances mitochondrial fatty acid β‐oxidation by directly targeting calmodulin, improving liver steatosis, fibrosis, and insulin resistance in vivo.

Improvement of neutropenia in 2 adolescent cases treated with empagliflozin for glycogen storage disease type Ib [PDF]

open access: yesPediatric Emergency Medicine Journal
Neutropenia and elevated concentrations of hepatic transaminases often lead to referrals from emergency or outpatient departments to relevant specialists to diagnose underlying inborn errors of metabolism.

Cytogenetic, Hematobiochemical, and Histopathological Assessment of Albino Rats (Rattus norvegicus) Fed on Gluten Extracts [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Background: Literature shows that most of the information on the toxicity of gluten is generated from survey and observational studies, resulting in inconsistent outcomes and a decrease in the acceptability of gluten-rich foods. To determine gluten's safety, an in-depth in vitro and in vivo toxicological examination is required. This enables scientists

Asymmetric Biocatalytic Synthesis of Fluorinated Pyridines through Transesterification or Transamination: Computational Insights into the Reactivity of Transaminases

open access: yes, 2017
The synthesis of a family of pyridines bearing a fluorinated substituent on the aromatic ring has been carried out through two independent and highly stereoselective chemoenzymatic strategies.

Efficient and Specific PDGFRβ‐Targeting Dual‐Mode T1‐T2 MRI Nanoprobe for Early Diagnosis of Non‐Alcoholic Fatty Liver

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The Fe3O4/Gd@BSA‐pPB nanoprobe leverages biomimetic mineralization and targets hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) through PDGFRβ, offering superior enrichment in fibrotic regions. This targeted delivery overcomes biological barriers, enhancing both the accuracy and sensitivity of MRI imaging at early disease stages.
