Transarterial chemoembolization for treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma: A single center experience

open access: yes, 2013
Background/aims: We aimed to determine the effect of transarterial chemoembolization treatment on survival in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma and to investigate the efficacy and tolerability of two different transarterial chemoembolization ...

Construction of a Non‐Invasive Predictive Model Based on PIVKA‐II Combined With MRI Imaging Features for Evaluating Microvascular Invasion in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, Volume 42, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT This study developed a non‐invasive model using PIVKA‐II and MRI features to predict microvascular invasion in hepatocellular carcinoma, providing a reliable tool for early risk assessment and personalized treatment planning. The study included 98 patients with pathologically confirmed HCC (Child‐Pugh A, BCLC stage A), comprising 43 MVI ...

Perioperative Camrelizumab and Apatinib for High‐Risk Resectable Hepatocellular Carcinoma: A Phase II Study

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 10, October 2026.
In this study, perioperative camrelizumab plus apatinib demonstrated promising efficacy and safety in resectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients at high risk of recurrence, achieving a major pathological response of 46.2%. The median disease‐free survival and progression‐free survival were 24.1 months and 18.3 months, respectively.

A Single-Center Retrospective Comparison of Doxorubicin-Loaded HepaSphere Transarterial Chemoembolization with Conventional Transarterial Chemoembolization for Patients with Unresectable Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yes, 2015
Purpose: To compare doxorubicin-loaded HepaSphere transarterial chemoembolization versus conventional transarterial chemoembolization in terms of survival, time to recurrence, acute reversible hepatotoxicity, postembolization syndrome, and ...

Efficacy and Safety of Co‐Ablation Combined With Aintilimab for Metastatic Melanoma to the Liver (CryoCheck‐001): A Phase II Trial

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 10, October 2026.
Liver metastasis is a key driver of immune tolerance in patients with melanoma receiving immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy. This single‐arm phase II trial prospectively investigated the efficacy and safety of co‐ablation combined with sintilimab for liver metastatic melanoma.

Hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy for hepatocellular carcinoma refractory to transarterial chemoembolization: exploring the influence of prior transarterial chemoembolization and additional transarterial chemoembolization on survival outcomes

open access: yesJournal of Gastrointestinal Oncology
The selection of an efficacious treatment modality for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) diagnosed as refractory to transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) presents numerous challenges. In addition to systemic therapies, hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy (HAIC) may serve as an alternative option.
