Molecular Electroporation and the Transduction of Oligoarginines

open access: yes, 2009
Certain short polycations, such as TAT and polyarginine, rapidly pass through the plasma membranes of mammalian cells by an unknown mechanism called transduction as well as by endocytosis and macropinocytosis.

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Functional orthogonality of parvoviral phospholipase A2 domains in adeno-associated virus transduction

open access: yesJournal of Virology
Dependoparvoviruses, which belong to the family Parvoviridae, are being developed as viral vectors for gene transfer. Notably, different adeno-associated viral (AAV) serotype capsids have been utilized to generate pseudotyped recombinant vectors.

Electro-optomechanical equivalent circuits for quantum transduction

open access: yes, 2018
Using the techniques of optomechanics, a high-$Q$ mechanical oscillator may serve as a link between electromagnetic modes of vastly different frequencies. This approach has successfully been exploited for the frequency conversion of classical signals and

Redox regulation meets metabolism: targeting PRDX2 to prevent hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PRDX2 acts as a central redox hub linking metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatohepatitis (MASH) to hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). In normal hepatocytes, PRDX2 maintains redox balance and metabolic homeostasis under oxidative stress. In contrast, during malignant transformation, PRDX2 promotes oncogenic signaling, stemness, and tumor initiation ...

Broadband optomechanical transduction of nanomagnetic spin modes

open access: yes, 2018
The stable vortex state that occurs in micron-scale magnetic disks is one of the most interesting and potentially useful phenomenon in nanomagnetism.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Transductive quantitative calculation approach of network abnormality index

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2013
For the problem of network abnormality index calculation,a transductive quantitative calculation approach named QCDP was proposed based on quantitative characteristics index, composition characteristics index, distribution characteristics index and pattern

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.
