Optimization of Transfection

Current Protocols in Neuroscience, 1997
AbstractThe single most important factor in optimizing transfection efficiency is selecting the proper transfection protocol. This overview discusses the most commonly used procedures: calcium phosphate‐mediated gene transfer, DEAE‐dextran‐mediated gene transfer, electroporation, and liposome‐mediated transfection.

Transfection of Difficult-to-Transfect Primary Mammalian Cells

2011
Primary cells are a valuable tool for researchers and are often preferred over transformed or immortalized cell lines since they are biologically more relevant and resemble the in vivo situation much closer. Unfortunately, efficient gene transfer in primary cells is still limited.

[Transfection].

Nihon rinsho. Japanese journal of clinical medicine, 1997
Transfection is a method to introduce DNA into mammalian cells. Calcium phosphate-mediated transfection is well used as one of the methods for transfection. The basic protocol is simple and does not require the elaborated instruments. It has been applied to introduce the heterogeneous DNA for integration into and expression from the chromosome.
