Secretion of Mutant DNA and mRNA by the Exosomes of Breast Cancer Cells
Exosomes are the small vesicles that are secreted by different types of normal and tumour cells and can incorporate and transfer their cargo to the recipient cells. The main goal of the present work was to study the tumour exosomes’ ability to accumulate

An Expanded Landscape of Unusually Short RNAs in 11 Samples from Six Eukaryotic Organisms
Small RNA sequencing (sRNA-Seq) approaches unveiled sequences derived from longer non-coding RNAs, such as transfer RNA (tRNA) and ribosomal RNA (rRNA) fragments, known as tRFs and rRFs, respectively.

tRFtarget 2.0: expanding the targetome landscape of transfer RNA-derived fragments
Abstract tRFtarget 1.0 (http://trftarget.net/) is a platform consolidating both computationally predicted and experimentally validated binding sites between transfer RNA-derived fragments (tRFs) and target genes (or transcripts) across multiple organisms.

Hybridization of denatured RNA and small DNA fragments transferred to nitrocellulose. [PDF]
A simple and rapid method for transferring RNA from agarose gels to nitrocellulose paper for blot hybridization has been developed. Poly(A)+ and ribosomal RNAs transfer efficiently to nitrocellulose paper in high salt (3 M NaCl/0.3 M trisodium citrate) after denaturation with glyoxal and 50% (vol/vol) dimethyl sulfoxide.

Widespread mitovirus sequences in plant genomes [PDF]
The exploration of the evolution of RNA viruses has been aided recently by the discovery of copies of fragments or complete genomes of non-retroviral RNA viruses (Non-retroviral Endogenous RNA Viral Elements, or NERVEs) in many eukaryotic nuclear genomes.

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) or measles virus (MeV) infection modifies host responses through small non-coding RNA (sncRNA) expression. We show that RSV or MeV infection of neuronal cells induces sncRNAs including various microRNAs and transfer RNA ...

Horizontal transfer between loose compartments stabilizes replication of fragmented ribozymes.
The emergence of replicases that can replicate themselves is a central issue in the origin of life. Recent experiments suggest that such replicases can be realized if an RNA polymerase ribozyme is divided into fragments short enough to be replicable by ...

Recent development of urinary biomarkers for bladder cancer diagnosis and monitoring
Urine‐based liquid biopsy has emerged as a non‐invasive and effective tool for early screening and diagnosis of bladder cancer. This review provides a comprehensive overview of the current urine‐based biomarkers and methods for the detection and ...
