The combining effects of ausforming and below-Ms or above-Ms austempering on the transformation kinetics, microstructure and mechanical properties of low-carbon bainitic steel

open access: yes, 2019
The isothermal transformation kinetics, microstructure and mechanical properties of a low-carbon bainitic steel, subjected to below-Ms/above-Ms austempering with or without prior ausforming, have been investigated via dilatometric measurements ...

A critical review on deformation-induced transformation kinetics of austenitic stainless steels

open access: yesMaterials Science and Technology
Deformation-induced austenite to martensite transformation is an important phenomenon during the deformation of metastable fully austenitic transformation induced plasticity (TRIP) steels.

Kinetics of moisture-induced phase transformation in inorganic halide perovskite

open access: yesMatter, 2021
Summary The high-temperature (high-T) phase of cesium lead iodide (CsPbI3) presents great promise for photovoltaic applications; however, exposure to ambient moisture at room temperature transforms it into its less-desirable low-temperature (low-T) phase

Quench Sensitivity and Phase Transformation Kinetics of AlSi7MnMg High Pressure Vacuum Die Casting [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2020
The quench sensitivity of an AlSi7MnMg alloy in high-pressure vacuum die (HPVD) casting was investigated by time-temperature-transformation and time-temperature-property diagrams with an interrupted quench technique.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Kinetic models of multiple-stage martensite transformation and subsequent isothermal bainite formation excluding ε-carbide precipitation in intercritical quenching and partitioning steels

open access: yesMaterials & Design, 2019
The kinetic models of multiple-stage martensite transformation and subsequent isothermal bainite formation were investigated in intercritical quenching and partitioning steels. The modified K-M model that considering instantaneous kinetic characteristics
