Transformation stasis phenomenon and overall transformation kinetics of low-carbon, Nb-bearing ferrous alloy

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2020
To illuminate the overall transformation kinetics of low-carbon, Nb-bearing ferrous Alloy (Nb ferrous alloy), a novel method was proposed to investigate the overall transformation behavior on the basis of bainitic transformation stasis theory.

Kinetics of the allotropic hcp-fcc phase transformation in cobalt. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
International audienceThe allotropic, martensitic phase transformation hcp→fcc in cobalt was investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) upon isochronal annealing at heating rates in the range from 10 K min-1 to 40 K min-1.

High Temperature Transformation, O2 Etching, and Passivation of Single SiOx Nanoparticles: Kinetics and Optical Properties as Structure Probes

open access: yes, 2023
The surface chemistry and optical properties of silica nanoparticles (NPs) were studied using a single nanoparticle mass spectrometer. Initially, silica NPs were transparent to 532 nm excitation, but after brief exposure to a CO2 laser (10.6 μm) their ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Kinetics of the Solution-Mediated Polymorphic Transformation of Organic Compounds

open access: yes, 2018
Polymorphism is a behavior of a substance to crystallize into more than one district crystal structures. Preferential formation of a polymorph depends strongly on the kinetics of the relevant mechanisms.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Kinetics of the cercaria-schistosomulum transformation in vivo

open access: yesRevista da Sociedade Brasileira de Medicina Tropical, 1985
Sitice most studies on the cercaria-schistosomulum transformation have been carried out in vitro, the authors used the inoculation ofcercariae into the peritoneal cavity of mice tofollow the steps involved in this progressive adaptation of cercarie to ...

Back-transformation processes in high-pressure minerals: implications for planetary collisions and diamond transportation from the deep Earth

open access: yesProgress in Earth and Planetary Science, 2022
We conducted back-transformation experiments in ringwoodite, bridgmanite, and lingunite at 0.47–8.1 GPa and 310–920 °C by in situ X-ray observation method. Ringwoodite back-transformed to olivine by grain-boundary nucleation and growth mechanism.

Recent Developments for Isochronal Transformation Kinetics Model and their Applications

open access: yes, 2011
Analytical model for isochronal phase transformation kinetics attracts much attention for its advantages and importance. Adopting an effective treatment for the so-called temperature integral, an analytical model for isochronal transformation kinetics ...
