An improved closed-form solution to interfacial stresses in plated beams using a two-stage approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The shear stress and the normal stresses in the thickness direction at interfaces (referred as interfacial shear and transverse normal stresses hereafter) have played a significant role in understanding the premature debonding failure of beams ...

HEAT CONDUCTED THROUGH FINS OF VARYING CROSS-SECTIONS VIA ROHIT TRANSFORM

open access: yes, 2023
The conduction of heat takes place through the fins or spines from particle to particle due to temperature gradient in the direction of decreasing temperature. Heat is not lost equally by each element of the fin but is lost mostly near the base of the fin. Thus there would be wastage of the material if a uniform fin is used.

Semigroups of Transformations Preserving an Equivalence Relation and a Cross-Section [PDF]

open access: yesCommunications in Algebra, 2004
Abstract For a set X, an equivalence relation ρ on X, and a cross-section R of the partition X/ρ induced by ρ, consider the semigroup T(X, ρ, R) consisting of all mappings a from X to X such that a preserves both ρ (if (x, y) ∈ ρ then (xa, ya) ∈ ρ) and R (if r ∈ R then ra ∈ R).

Molecular characterisation of human penile carcinoma and generation of paired epithelial primary cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Generation of two normal and tumour (cancerous) paired human cell lines using an established tissue culture technique and their characterisation is described. Cell lines were characterised at cellular, protein, chromosome and gene expression levels and for HPV status.

ANALISIS LAYER SYSTEM BAMBU LAMINASI BERDASARKAN PENYEBARAN KERAPATAN IKATAN PEMBULUHNYA

open access: yesJurnal Ilmu Pertanian Indonesia, 2013
Anatomically, bamboo is constructed from many types of cells. Vascular bundles are the cells which give the highest contribution to the bamboo strength, thus the density distribution of vascular bundles could be used as the main variable for analyzing ...

Modeling and Analysis of the Flow Characteristics of Liquid Hydrogen in a Pipe Suffering from External Transient Impact

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
Pipes can be subjected to external transient impacts such as accidental collision, which affects the safe operation of storage and transportation systems for liquid hydrogen. Fluid–structure coupling calculation for a pipe under external transient impact

Computation of the modes and polar moment of inertial of the blades of an HAWT [PDF]

open access: yes, 1981
The coupled differential equations of motion of the blades of a horizontal axis wind turbine are solved numerically, permitting the optimization of the design at relatively low cost.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.
