Planar Cross-Sectional Fitting of Structural Members to Numerical Simulation Results Obtained from Finite Element Models with Solid or Shell Elements

open access: yesBuildings
Modeling complex conditions involving extensive engineering structures with large numbers of beams and columns often requires a mixture of analytical modeling based on beam theory and numerical simulations involving finite element models composed of ...

Head nurse ethical competence and transformational leadership: a cross-sectional study

open access: yesBMC Nursing
Ethical competency is important to head nurses' transformational leadership, however, few researches have explored their correlation, Additionally, most studies used variable-oriented approach to examine ethical competence, without considering it as a multidimensional concept.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

NNLO Computational Techniques: the Cases H -> gamma gamma and H -> g g

open access: yes, 2008
A large set of techniques needed to compute decay rates at the two-loop level are derived and systematized. The main emphasis of the paper is on the two Standard Model decays H -> gamma gamma and H -> g g. The techniques, however, have a much wider range

APPLICATION OF RANDOM TRANSFORMATION TO NON-CIRCULAR CROSS-SECTION PLASMA DIAGONOSTICS

open access: yesActa Physica Sinica, 1987
In this article, a new way is explored, which uses the method of image reconstruction from the projection based on the theory of random transformation, to determine simultaneously the magnetic configuration and 2-D distribution of physical quantities of non-circular cross-section plasma from the diagonostic results.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Tsunami runup in U and V shaped bays [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Thesis (M.S.) University of Alaska Fairbanks, 2014.Tsunami runup can be effectively modeled using the shallow water wave equations. In 1958 Carrier and Greenspan in their work "Water waves of finite amplitude on a sloping beach" used this system to model

Factorization Approach for Inclusive Production of Doubly Heavy Baryon

open access: yes, 2003
We study inclusive production of doubly heavy baryon at a $e^+e^-$ collider and at hadron colliders through fragmentation. We study the production by factorizing nonpertubative- and perturbative effects. In our approach the production can be thought as a
