Enhanced characterization of beta cell mass in a Tg(Pdx1-GFP) mouse model [PDF]
Introduction: Measurement of pancreatic beta cell mass in animal models is a common assay in diabetes researches. Novel whole-organ clearance methods in conjunction with transgenic mouse models hold tremendous promise to improve beta cell mass ...

Cerebral amyloid angiopathy : new insights from transgenic mice [PDF]
Cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) is characterized by the deposition of congophilic material within the walls of small to medium-sized blood vessels of the brain and leptomeninges.

Expression of a neuroendocrine gene signature in gastric tumor cells from CEA 424-SV40 large T antigen-transgenic mice depends on SV40 large T antigen. [PDF]
A large fraction of murine tumors induced by transgenic expression of SV40 large T antigen (SV40 TAg) exhibits a neuroendocrine phenotype. It is unclear whether SV40 TAg induces the neuroendocrine phenotype by preferential transformation of progenitor ...

Transgenic mouse models for ADHD [PDF]
Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a developmental disorder characterized by symptoms of inattention, impulsivity and hyperactivity that adversely affect many aspects of life. Whereas the etiology of ADHD remains unknown, growing evidence indicates a genetic involvement in the development of this disorder.

A Transgenic Mouse Model for Trilateral Retinoblastoma [PDF]
We present a murine model of trilateral retinoblastoma. Ocular retinoblastoma and central nervous system tumors are observed in a line of mice formed by the transgenic expression of SV40 T-antigen. An oncogenic protein known to bind to the retinoblastoma gene product (p105-Rb) is specifically expressed within retinal cells in this model.

Transmissibility of caprine scrapie in ovine transgenic mice
Background The United States control program for classical ovine scrapie is based in part on the finding that infection is typically spread through exposure to shed placentas from infected ewes. Transmission from goats to sheep is less well described.

Murine models of renal disease: Possibilities and problems in studies using mutant mice [PDF]
The elucidation of the pathogenesis of human renal disease at the molecular level has been facilitated by the growing field of gene targeting and the development of mouse strains with single-gene deletions - the `knock-out' mice. Experimental nephrology,
