Tobacco transcription factor WRKY4 is a modulator of leaf development and disease resistance

open access: yesBiologia Plantarum, 2010
The role of tobacco transcription factor WRKY4 in leaf development and biotic stress tolerance was studied using RNAi suppressed transgenic plants. The leaves were more numerous and wider in NtWRKY4 RNAi suppressed transgenic lines compared to the vector

Allosteric Modulation of Pathological Ataxin‐3 Aggregation: A Path to Spinocerebellar Ataxia Type‐3 Therapies

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study uncovers a new allosteric site in the Josephin domain of ataxin‐3 targeted by the molecular tweezer CLR01, which modulates protein aggregation, improves synaptic function in neuronal cells, and delays motor dysfunction in animal models.

A Patient‐Derived Organoid Biobank of Adamantinomatous Craniopharyngioma as a Platform for Drug Discovery

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study successfully establishes adamantinomatous craniopharyngioma (ACP) patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) that preserve the histopathological and genetic features of the original tumors. Through drug sensitivity assays and subsequent mechanistic analyses, the study demonstrates that Ceritinib exerts its inhibitory effects on ACP PDO growth by ...

EIF1AX Nucleolar Condensates Enhance Susceptibilities for the Management of Endometrial Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This schematic illustrates the mechanism of a senolytic strategy in endometrial cancer. EIF1AX facilitates the incorporation of DDX21 into nucleolar condensates, an event that suppresses rDNA transcription and induces cellular senescence. The compound 2,5‐MeC exploits this pathway by promoting EIF1AX nucleolar translocation and condensate formation ...

Increased glutathione S-transferase activity in 35S(CaMV)-Zmgstf4 transgenic Arabidopsis thaliana

open access: yesEcocycles, 2017
Clones of 35S-Zmgstf4 transgenic Arabidopsis thaliana expressing the glutathione S-transferase F4 gene of Zea mays, were tested for stress-inductive GST (glutathione S-transferase) activity following treatments with the heavy metals Zn (150 and 1500 μM),

Pre‐Encoded IFN‐I Sensitivity Exacerbates Memory T Cell Senescence in Solid Tumors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Type I interferon (IFN‐I) signaling promotes p21‐dependent cell cycle arrest in senescent tumor‐specific memory T cells, resulting in poor proliferative responses and solid tumor regression during cancer vaccination. Conversely, IFNα/β receptor blockade reinvigorates T cell proliferation to regress solid tumors and is more effective with increasing ...

The Arabidopsis Genes RPW8.1 and RPW8.2 Confer Induced Resistance to Powdery Mildew Diseases in Tobacco

open access: yesMolecular Plant-Microbe Interactions, 2003
Plant disease resistance (R) gene products recognize pathogen avirulence (Avr) gene products and induce defense responses. It is not known if an R gene can function in different plant families, however.

BioCNTs Mediated Delivery of Systemically Mobile Small RNAs via Leaf Spray to Control Both Tomato DNA and RNA Viruses

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A carbon nanotube‐based biopesticide system (BioCNTs) enables efficient delivery and systemic movement of RNAi molecules to control major tomato viruses. By integrating shRNA and tRNA‐like structures (TLS) with BioCNTs, this green and scalable approach achieves long‐term silencing and high antiviral efficacy through simple foliar spraying.
