Effects of Carbon Nanoparticles on Triboelectro‐Induced Surface Defects

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 6, 18 March 2026.
Carbon nanoparticles added to grease modify the electrocontact behavior. The synergy of particle concentration and electric current dominates the surface damage of metals in contact. Electrical surface damage caused by current leakage is a critical challenge in high‐performance applications such as electric vehicle (EV) drivetrains and wind turbine ...

Generation mechanism and influencing factors of transient overvoltage on ultra high-voltage direct current transmission

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research
The transient overvoltage caused by faults in ultra-high-voltage direct current (UHVDC) transmission lines and alternating current (AC) systems can adversely affect system safety and stability.

A Rotor Voltage Compensation Method for Transient Voltage Dip in Grid‐Connected Power Systems With A High Proportion of Renewable Energy Under Ramp‐Type Gradual Disturbance

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 3, March 2026.
This paper proposes a doubly fed induction generator rotor voltage compensation control to address transient voltage dips in renewable‐rich grids. By compensating for rotor electromotive forces, it suppresses current fluctuations and surges during asymmetrical faults.

Time‐Domain Geoelectrical Modeling and Experimental Validation of Ground Potential Rise in Multilayer Soil Structures during Fault Events

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 14, Issue 3, Page 1492-1504, March 2026.
This study develops a time‐domain geoelectrical model of ground potential rise (GPR) in multilayer soil that couples electromagnetic field theory with nonlinear fault arc resistance. Finite‐element simulations calibrated against scaled fault‐injection experiments reproduce measured GPR and step/touch voltages within 4.7% error, revealing that steady ...

Characterizing the Signals and Backgrounds in a Low Earth Orbiting Cherenkov Detector, and Background Mitigation Strategies

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, Volume 131, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract Cherenkov detectors have been used in space for decades to measure Galactic Cosmic Rays (GCRs), Solar Energetic Particles (SEPs) and trapped particles. We present proof‐of‐concept GRAS/Geant4 simulations to both show that a cubic fused silica Cherenkov detector with SiPM in LEO has a good sensitivity to SEP and GCR protons as a function of cut‐

Analysis of the Electrochemical Stability of Sulfide Solid Electrolyte Dry Films for Improved Dry‐Processed Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 17, 26 February 2026.
An adapted processing for solvent‐free argyrodite solid electrolyte films based on insights into degradation mechanisms of the widely used binder polytetrafluoroethylene is presented. By adapting the dry film processing, long‐term cycling in Si||NMC pouch cells is demonstrated over more than 1000 cycles with a capacity retention of more than 80%, and ...

Synchronized Electro‐Chromo‐Emissive Devices Using a Mixed Ionic‐Electronic Conductive Layer for XR Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 13, 12 February 2026.
A single cell type Electro‐chromo‐emissive (ECECL) device integrating synchronized electrochromic (EC) and electrochemiluminescent (ECL) functions is developed using a mixed ionic‐electronic conductor (MIEC). A MIEC layer reduces ionic/electronic resistance, enabling ultrafast switching and enhanced optical contrast.

Research on Coordinated Control of Dynamic Reactive Power Sources of DC Blocking and Commutation Failure Transient Overvoltage in New Energy Transmission

open access: yesEnergies
With the large-scale deployment of renewable energy, transmission systems for new energy sources are increasingly exposed to transient overvoltage issues induced by DC blockages and commutation failures. To address the challenges of an imprecise response
