The Rearrangement of Alkylallenes to 1,3-Dienes

open access: yesReactions, 2022
1,3-Dienes are vital building blocks in organic synthesis. They underpin many fundamental synthetic transformations and are present in numerous natural products and drug candidate molecules.

Deep Eutectic Solvents as à-la-Carte Medium for Transition-Metal-Catalyzed Organic Processes

open access: yesMolecules, 2022
Our society is facing a tremendous challenge to become more sustainable in every sphere of life. Regarding the chemical industry, one of the most significant issues to be addressed is the use of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) as solvents because they ...

The Metallic Bond for Monolayer Transition Metal Layers on Transition Metal Surfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
This present work discusses changes in the electronic and chemical properties of some transition metal layers on transition metal substrates, and presents a simple framework for understanding the results.

Photodeposited metal-semiconductor nanocomposites and their applications

open access: yesJournal of Materiomics, 2018
While two-dimensional layered nanomaterials including transition metal oxides and transition metal dichalcogenides have been widely researched because of their unique electronic and optical properties, they still have some limitations.

Modulation of the optical properties of transition metal doped PbSe quantum dots in silicate glasses

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2020
Optical properties of lead chalcogenide quantum dots (QDs) can be controlled by tuning its bandgaps. We prepared silicate glasses using the melt-quenching method and heat-treated 510 °C–540 °C for 10 h to precipitate transition metal ions into PbSe QDs ...

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Microstructure and composition of rare earth-transition metal-aluminium-magnesium alloys

open access: yesMaterials Research, 2008
The determination of the microstructure and chemical composition of La0.7-xPr xMg0.3Al 0.3Mn0.4Co0.5 Ni3.8 (0 < x < 0.7) metal hydride alloys has been carried out using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X ray analysis (EDX) and X ray ...
