Terminology Translation Error Identification and Correction

2017
Statistical machine translation (SMT) system requires homogeneous training data in order to get domain-sensitive terminology translations. If the data is multi-domain mixed, it is difficult for SMT system to learn translation probability of context-sensitive terminology. However, terminology translation is important for SMT.

The Corrective Value of Repeated Translations

The School Review, 1929
It is the practice of many teachers of foreign languages to recommend to their students that they go over the assigned translation more than once. The first translation of a passage permits the student to become familiar with new words and phrases.

Communicating Correct Syntax Through Translation Activities

Foreign Language Annals, 1979
ABSTRACT The structure sheets presented in this paper offer translation activities to commmunicate correct syntax. Syntax mastered on the audiolingual level often cannot insinuate itself into students' minds when they are faced with translating or creating a sentence.

Correct View Update Translations via Containment

1994
Given an intensional database (IDB) and an extension database (EDB), the view update problem translates updates on the IDB into updates on the EDB. One approach to the view update problem uses a translation langauge to specify the meaning of a view update. In this paper we prove properties of a translation language.

The Translation Correction Tool: English-Spanish user studies

2004
Machine translation systems should improve with feedback from post-editors, but none do beyond the very localized benefit of adding the corrected translation to parallel training data (for statistical and example-base MTS) or a memory data base. Rule based systems to date improve only via manual debugging.

Intelligent Data Mining for Translator Correctness Prediction

2016 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Big Data Security on Cloud (BigDataSecurity), IEEE International Conference on High Performance and Smart Computing (HPSC), and IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Data and Security (IDS), 2016
This paper presents a new approach to predictive data analytics, called Radius of Neighbors (RN), and its mobile application, a multilingual RN-Chatter, devoted to improve communication among people, speaking different languages. RN is a modeless method of unsupervised machine learning, what makes it a fairly simple but effective way of analyzing big ...

Correction to ?Two-groups on finite translation planes?

Archiv der Mathematik, 1988
Let \(\pi\) be a translation plane of order \(q^ d\), with kernel GF(q). The paper being corrected [Arch. Math. 47, 568-572 (1986; Zbl 0588.51003)] was an attempt to improve on earlier results to the effect that if the translation complement contains an elementary Abelian group of order \(2^ c\), then \(2^{c-2}\) divides d.
