A Text Typological Assessment of Automatic Translation

open access: yesCihan University-Erbil Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences
The extensive use of artificial intelligence in translation projects has motivated this study to evaluate the quality of two popular systems, GPT Open AI and Google Translate. To assess the systems’ performance 15 sentences were chosen from a variety of

Burgosko 1747ko dotrina: I. testua eta oharrak

open access: yesAnuario del Seminario de Filología Vasca "Julio de Urquijo", 1986
This article sees the publication of the Basque translation ofthe Astete printed in Burgos in 1747, the unique copy of which was preserved in the library of Prince Bonaparte, and is now kept in the Newberry Library in Chicago. This text was unknown among

Discrete scale invariance, and its logarithmic extension

open access: yes, 2002
It is known that discrete scale invariance leads to log-periodic corrections to scaling. We investigate the correlations of a system with discrete scale symmetry, discuss in detail possible extension of this symmetry such as translation and inversion ...

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Local-entire cyclic cocycles for graded quantum field nets

open access: yes, 2013
In a recent paper we studied general properties of super-KMS functionals on graded quantum dynamical systems coming from graded translation-covariant quantum field nets over R, and we carried out a detailed analysis of these objects on certain models of ...

PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.

Discovering the coulisses of artistic collaboration: A genetic reading of the English translation of Saint-John Perse’s poem Amers

open access: yesIlha do Desterro, 2018
Saint-John Perse’s poem Amers (1956) was translated into English by the American translator and literary scholar Wallace Fowlie in 1957. The manuscripts of this translation, which present the main focus of this paper, are conserved in the archive of the

Quantum adiabatic polarons by translationally invariant perturbation theory

open access: yes, 2006
The translationally invariant diagrammatic quantum perturbation theory (TPT) is applied to the polaron problem on the 1D lattice, modeled through the Holstein Hamiltonian with the phonon frequency omega0, the electron hopping t and the electron-phonon ...

Pharmacological inhibition of the PERK pathway modulates hepatocellular carcinoma growth and immune signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

Processes of Translation and Interpreting from a Native into a Foreign Language: Psycholinguistic Aspects

open access: yesПсихолінгвістика, 2020
The aim of the paper deals with the preliminary verification of D. Gile’s (2009) hypothesis (Effort Model) concerning the dependence of the translation quality not only on the command of the two languages involved, but also on the degree of the ...
