An estimate of the global error frequency in translation
Molecular and General Genetics MGG, 1982Electrophoretic heterogeneity in a set of selected proteins is used to estimate the average error frequency during translation. Estimates based upon streptomycin-induced heterogeneity as well as mistranslation of an ochre codon yield an average error frequency of 4 x 10(-4) for normally growing cells.

If the data is multi-domain mixed, it is difficult for SMT system to learn translation probability of context-sensitive terminology. However, terminology translation is important for SMT.
