Transmissible gastroenteritis virus (TGEV) is a porcine intestinal coronavirus that causes fatal severe watery diarrhea in piglets. The neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn) is the only IgG transport receptor, its expression on mucosal surfaces is triggered upon ...

Getah virus (GETV) is a mosquito‐borne alphavirus with an expanding host range and an increasing impact on swine production, particularly in neonatal piglets. In this study, a severe disease outbreak characterized by acute diarrhea and high mortality occurred among suckling piglets on a commercial pig farm in central China.

Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV), an enteropathogenic coronavirus causing high mortality in neonatal piglets, continues to threaten global swine industries. Frequent mutations in the spike (S) protein of PEDV, particularly in emerging variants, have substantially compromised commercial vaccine efficacy.

Ten Years Later: Molecular Detection and Circulation of Enteric Viruses in Italian Pig Herds
Enteric viral infections remain a major challenge for the swine industry, particularly in young animals, and represent a potential source of zoonotic risk. Ten years after a previous survey conducted in Italy, we performed a cross‐sectional study investigating mostly the same viruses to evaluate the persistence and circulation of different enteric ...

Natural Products as Potential Resource Library for Control of Major Swine Enteric Viruses
Major swine enteric viruses (SEVs), including porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV), porcine deltacoronavirus (PDCoV), transmissible gastroenteritis virus (TGEV), swine acute diarrhea syndrome coronavirus (SADS‐CoV), and porcine rotavirus (PoRV), cause severe gastrointestinal diseases in pigs, leading to huge economic losses to the swine industry ...

Recent Advances in Lateral Flow Immunoassay for Rapid Diagnosis of Viral Diseases
Viral diseases are a major threat to human and animal health, as illustrated by recent pandemics like COVID‐19 and African swine fever (ASF). Timely, accurate detection of viral infections is critical for effective disease control. Among diverse diagnostic techniques, lateral flow immunoassay (LFIA) has become a widely used on‐site testing tool, owing ...

Impact of TGEV infection on the pig small intestine
Background Pig diarrhea causes high mortality and large economic losses in the swine industry. Transmissible gastroenteritis virus (TGEV) causes pig diarrhea, with 100% mortality in piglets less than 2 weeks old. No investigation has yet been made of the
