Uniform estimates for transmission problems with high contrast in heat conduction and electromagnetism [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper we prove uniform a priori estimates for transmission problems with constant coefficients on two subdomains, with a special emphasis for the case when the ratio between these coefficients is large. In the most part of the work, the interface

Transmission expansion planning considering substation arrangements [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Transmission expansion planning (TEP) is aimed at expanding the existing transmission system to satisfy potential power demand growth and future power plant expansion.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Impact on signal integrity of interconnect variabilities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In this paper, literature results on the statistical simulation of lossy and dispersive interconnect networks with uncertain physical properties are extended to general nonlinear circuits.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Security constrained AC transmission network expansion planning [PDF]

open access: yesElectric Power Systems Research, 2019
Modern transmission network expansion planning (TNEP) is carried out with AC network model, which is able to handle voltage and voltage stability constraints. However, such a model requires optimization with iterative AC power flow model, which is computationally so demanding that most of the researchers have ignored the vital (N-1) security ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Spatially resolved pump-probe study of single-layer graphene produced by chemical vapor deposition

open access: yes, 2012
Carrier dynamics in single-layer graphene grown by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) is studied using spatially and temporally resolved pump-probe spectroscopy by measuring both differential transmission and differential reflection.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Improved Effective Range Expansion for Casimir-Polder potential

open access: yes, 2019
We study the effective range expansion of scattering on a real Casimir-Polder potential. We use Liouville transformations which transform the potential landscape while preserving the reflection and transmission amplitudes.
