The Progress and Prospect of Gap Breakdown Characteristics and Discharge Mechanisms of Overhead Transmission Lines Under Vegetation Fire Conditions

open access: yesEnergies
Wildfires frequently occur, posing a significant threat to the operational stability of transmission lines across mountainous forest areas. Therefore, this paper reviews numerous studies conducted by domestic and international scholars on the gap ...

A Parameterization Scheme for Lossy Transmission Line Macromodels with Application to High Speed Interconnects in Mobile Devices [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We introduce a novel parameterization scheme based on the generalized method of characteristics (MoC) formacromodels of transmission-line structures having a cross section depending on several free geometrical and material parameters.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Accurate small major hysteresis loops calculation by the Preisach model with improved parametric distribution function

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2022
The inversed Preisach hysteresis model is widely used to realize the rapid coupling of hysteresis characteristics of core materials in finite element analysis. However, the small major hysteresis loop is difficult to be accurately simulated.

Lossy transmission line response via numerical Laplace transform inversion [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
An efficient transient analysis of lossy lines with nonlinear loads requires the ability to compute and represent a suitable set of line impulse responses.

Transmission Precision Analysis of Planetary Line Gear Transmission based on Assembly Error

open access: yes, 2021
Focusing on a planetary gear transmission that uses line gear as core transmission elements, and the influence of assembly errors on its transmission precision is studied.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Thermal Damage Evolution and Structural Response of Transmission Tower Legs Under Localized Wood-Crib Fire Exposure

open access: yesFire
Wildfires can threaten the safety of transmission towers by degrading galvanized coatings and reducing the load-bearing capacity of steel members exposed to elevated temperatures.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...
