Transplant acceptance-inducing cells as an immune-conditioning therapy in renal transplantation
The transplant acceptance-inducing cell (TAIC) is a type of immunoregulatory macrophage with the capacity to specifically dampen allogeneic rejection responses to a degree allowing safe minimization of conventional immunosuppressive therapy. In the first part of this report, the production and phenotype of the human TAIC is described.

Day/night variations of myeloid and lymphoid cell subsets in the murine inguinal lymph node
The circadian system is involved in the temporal regulation of the immune system. Our study reveals that two innate immune populations, NKT cells and neutrophils, predominate at the beginning of the day in healthy mice, highlighting how the time of day influences immune responses.

Effect of Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation Regimen on Tacrolimus Pharmacokinetics
: Objectives: Treatment with tacrolimus requires strict control of the whole-blood concentration in patients undergoing allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT).

HLA-DPB1 matching status has significant implications for recipients of unrelated donor stem cell transplants. [PDF]
Studies in unrelated donor (UD) hematopoietic stem cell transplantations (HSCT) show an effect of the matching status of HLA-DPB1 on complications. We analyzed 423 UD-HSCT pairs. Most protocols included T-cell depletion (TCD).

We investigated the toxicity of 12 active compounds commonly found in herbal weight loss supplements (WLS) using human liver and colon cell models. Epigallocatechin‐3‐gallate was the only compound showing significant toxicity. Metabolic profiling revealed protein degradation, disrupted energy and lipid metabolism suggesting that the inclusion of EGCG ...

Umbilical cord blood transplant recipients are exposed to an increased risk of graft failure, a complication leading to a higher rate of transplant-related mortality. The decision and timing to offer a second transplant after graft failure is challenging.

MECHANICAL CONDITIONING OF GREENHOUSE-GROWN TRANSPLANTS [PDF]
Since chemical growth retardants are no longer labelled for use on vegetable transplants, mechanical conditioning provides an alternative method of controlling excessive stem elongation under greenhouse conditions. Mechanical conditioning includes brushing or shaking treatments that physically impact or displace the plant and generally reduce plant ...

Mouse pre‐implantation development involves a transition from totipotency to pluripotency. Integrating transcriptomics, epigenetic profiling, low‐input proteomics and functional assays, we show that eight‐cell embryos retain residual totipotency features, whereas cytoskeletal remodeling regulated by the ubiquitin‐proteasome system drives progression ...
