Interaction extracellular vesicles (iEVs) are hybrid vesicles formed through host‐pathogen communication. They facilitate immune evasion, transfer pathogens' molecules, increase host cell uptake, and enhance virulence. This Perspective article illustrates the multifunctional roles of iEVs and highlights their emerging relevance in infection dynamics ...

Three-dimensional transport theory via one-dimensional transport theory [PDF]
In linear transport theory, three-dimensional equations reduce to one-dimensional equations by means of rotated reference frames. In this paper, we illustrate how the technique works and three-dimensional transport theories are obtained.

Numerical model estimation of biomethane production using an anaerobic CSTR: model formulation, parameter estimation and uncertainty/sensitivity analysis [PDF]
Global climate change is becoming of increasing concern. Transportation makes up a large part of carbon gasses, which affects climate change and air quality.

Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) accounts for half of the heart failure cases. It is characterised by microvascular dysfunction, associated with reduced pericyte coverage and diminished STAT3 expression in pericytes. Loss of STAT3 impairs pericyte adhesion, promotes senescence, and activates a pro‐fibrotic gene program.

Redesign of Goods Transportation Tools Through Stairs in Multilevel Buildings Based on a System Perspective (Case Studies at Telkom University Dormitory) [PDF]
Telkom University is one of the private universities that has a dormitory program for students as a residential facility in Bandung. The large number of students coming from outside Bandung makes a dormitory program on the campus area of Telkom ...

Ion channel function of polycystin‐2/polycystin‐1 heteromer revealed by structure‐guided mutagenesis
Mutations in polycystin‐1 (PC1) or polycystin‐2 (PC2) cause autosomal‐dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD). We generated a novel gain‐of‐function PC2/PC1 heteromeric ion channel by mutating pore‐blocking residues. Moreover, we demonstrated that PC2 will preferentially assemble with PC1 to form heteromeric complexes when PC1 is co‐expressed ...

Approximating optimal transport with linear programs [PDF]
In the regime of bounded transportation costs, additive approximations for the optimal transport problem are reduced (rather simply) to relative approximations for positive linear programs, resulting in faster additive approximation algorithms for optimal transport.

Non-linear transport and heat dissipation in metallic carbon nanotubes [PDF]
We show that the local temperature dependence of thermalized electron and phonon populations along metallic carbon nanotubes is the main reason behind this non-linear transport characteristics in the high bias regime. Our model that considers optical and zone boundary phonon emission as well as absorption by charge carriers is based on the solution of ...

Active Transportation for America [PDF]
In this era of traffic congestion, high gas prices, climate change, an obesity epidemic, and fiscal constraints, federal transportation funding has reached a critical crossroads.Decades of car-centered transportation policies have dead-ended in chronic ...
