Problems of operationalization and data in EU compliance research [PDF]

open access: yes
Substantial theoretical, conceptual and empirical advances have been made in research on the implementation of EU policies during recent years. However, our findings have remained ambivalent and our theoretical insights disparate. It therefore seems high

Structure and Stability of Tn9-mediated Cointegrates: Evidence of Two Pathways of Transposition

open access: yes, 1982
We have measured the frequency of Tn9 transposition and cointegrate formation in several different ways and have examined the stability of the cointegrates. We have also physically analyzed the structure of 40 independently derived cointegrate molecules.

How national policies influence energy community development across Europe? A review on societal, technical, and economical factors

open access: yesEnergy Conversion and Management: X
Renewable Energy Communities (RECs) have been clearly defined in the EU Renewable Energy Directive (RED) II (Directive 2018/2001) contained within the Clean Energy Package (CEP).

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...

Ensemble Flood Forecasting Using Transposition of NWP Rainfall Fields Considering Orographic Rainfall [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The use of meteorological ensembles to produce sets of hydrological predictions has increased the ability to issue flood warnings. However, the spatial scale of a hydrological domain is still much finer than that of a meteorological model, and Numerical ...

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.
