Early‐Onset Delayed Intraparenchymal Hemorrhage Following Flow Diversion: A Case Report Challenging the Windkessel Hypothesis

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Intraoperatively, in a patient with a history of macroadenoma, the cavernous segment of the internal carotid artery was injured. CTA revealed a dissecting pseudoaneurysm at the carotid bifurcation. This case illustrates a fulminant form of DIPH occurring within days of FD deployment.

Spontaneous reossification of the sella in transsphenoidal reoperation associated with strontium ranelate

open access: yesEndocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism Case Reports, 2017
Spontaneous reossification of the sellar floor after transsphenoidal surgery has been rarely reported. Strontium ranelate, a divalent strontium salt, has been shown to increase bone formation, increasing osteoblast activity.

Metachronous Pineal Germinoma 11 Years After Total Resection of a Mature Teratoma

open access: yesNeuropathology, Volume 46, Issue 4, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Central nervous system germ cell tumors are uncommon and include germinomas, teratomas, and other nongerminomatous germ cell tumors. Mature teratomas are usually cured by complete resection, but rare patients later develop a histologically distinct malignant germ cell tumor.

Interplay Between Infectious Diseases and the Endocrine System: An Overview and Clinical Insights

open access: yesEndocrinology, Diabetes &Metabolism, Volume 9, Issue 4, July 2026.
Infectious diseases can disrupt endocrine homeostasis through direct cytopathic injury, autoimmune dysregulation, or pathogen‐derived hormone‐like effects. Viruses and bacteria are the most frequent agents, whereas fungi and parasites contribute less commonly, even remaining clinically relevant, especially in the immunocompromised population.

Use of the Hadad-Bassagasteguy Flap for Repair of Recurrent Cerebrospinal Fluid Leak after Prior Transsphenoidal Surgery

open access: yesAllergy & Rhinology, 2013
The Hadad-Bassagasteguy vascularized nasoseptal pedicled flap (HBF) is an effective technique for reconstruction of skull base defects with low incidence of postoperative cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak.
