A practical proposal to obtain solutions of certain variational problems avoiding Euler formalism

open access: yesHeliyon, 2020
The aim of this article is to show the way to get both, exact and analytical approximate solutions for certain variational problems with moving boundaries but without resorting to Euler formalism at all, for which we propose two methods: the Moving ...

Conic singularities and immediate transversality

open access: yes, 2023
I introduced the notion of immediate transversality in a recent paper on $A_\infty$-structures on Morse complexes. I the present chapter, I prove that immediate transversality holds for every compact submanifold with $C^1$ conic singularities, not only ...

Principles of Transversality in Globalization and Education

open access: yes, 2018
The volume presents a challenge to think transversality in a way that is both responsible and liberating; it gives us a transversality for popular emancipation and not for subordination to profit.

Early‐life high‐fat diet exposure increases Achilles tendon stiffness and induces transcriptomic alterations

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Transversality, constraint and desire in Australian and Iranian classrooms

open access: yes, 2018
Félix Guattari’s concepts were evolved in practical situations, often working with groups to change their situation. Transversality was one of his earliest conceptions (Guattari in psychoanalysis and transversality: texts and interviews 1955–1971 ...

Transversal Greedoids

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Combinatorics, 1997
A new class of set systems is defined in terms of transversals of sets. Examination of the structure of these systems reveals that they are in fact examples of strong greedoids, namely greedoids which are greedy algorithm compatible, called by the author transversal greedoids.

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.
