Transfer Printing and Reconfiguration of Soft Electronics Using Digital Microfluidics and Laser Machining

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This paper presents a digital microfluidics‐based technique for transferring and reconfiguring soft nanomembranes. Laser‐machined nanothin membranes are picked up, transported, and aligned via tailored surface tension and the actuation of water droplets, enabling the development of flexible electronics, the integration of functional materials on 3D ...

Bending, Vibration and Buckling of Laminated Composite Plates Using a Simple Four Variable Plate Theory

open access: yesLatin American Journal of Solids and Structures
In the present study, a simple trigonometric shear deformation theory is applied for the bending, buckling and free vibration of cross-ply laminated composite plates.

Equivalent stiffness prediction and global buckling analysis using refined analytical model of composite laminated box beam

open access: yesScience and Engineering of Composite Materials, 2019
The analytical model applicable to calculate the equivalent stiffnesses of composite box beam has been refined. The calculation of equivalent stiffness coefficients of composite laminated box beam is simplified and the connection between shear-deformable

Analysis of an alternative topology for steel-concrete-steel sandwich beams incorporating inclined shear connectors

open access: yes, 2011
This thesis presents a new concept in steel-concrete-steel sandwich construction in which a bi-directional corrugated-strip core is proposed as an alternative inclined shear connector.

Dipole‐Engineered Conductive Additives for Ultrastable Interphase Evolution in High‐Areal‐Capacity Silicon Anodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In the work reported herein, dipole‐engineered sulfonated carbon nanofibers enable conductive additives to actively regulate interphase formation in silicon anodes. Polar sulfonyl groups guide electrolyte decomposition to form a compact LiF‐rich interphase while promoting robust integration with silicon.

3D Printing Innovations in Polymeric Porous and Patterned Architecture

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Polymeric foams occupy a unique structural space between dense solids and open networks, where engineered void fraction governs mechanical compliance, thermal resistance, and mass transport. Additive manufacturing now enables precise spatial control over cellular architecture, unlocking designer foam structures across applications spanning crash ...

A new insight in stress recovery tecniques and hessian reconstruction methods [PDF]

open access: yes
Stress recovery techniques have been an active research topic in the last few years since, in 1987, Zienkiewicz and Zhu proposed a procedure called Superconvergent Patch Recovery (SPR). This procedure is a last-squares fit of stresses at super-convergent

The structure and kinematics of the ox mountains, western Ireland: a mid-crustal transcurrent shear-zone [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
The stratigraphy, structure and kinematics of the central and southwest Ox Mountains, a major mid-crustal shear zone, are described. The tectono-stratigraphic sequence has been established using a combination of structural and stratigraphic techniques ...

The influence of elastic shear deformation on the transverse shear failure of a fully clamped beam subjected to idealized blast loading

open access: yes, 2009
The influence of elastic shear deformation on the transverse shear response of a fully clamped beam is investigated in the present paper. The beam is made from a rigid, perfectly plastic material and subjected to a uniformly distributed pressure pulse ...
