Itinerant ferromagnetism in an interacting Fermi gas with mass imbalance

We study the emergence of itinerant ferromagnetism in an ultra-cold atomic gas with a variable mass ratio between the up and down spin species. Mass imbalance breaks the SU(2) spin symmetry leading to a modified Stoner criterion.

Enhancing Corrosion Resistance and Mechanical Strength of 3D‐Printed Iron Polylactic Acid for Marine Applications via Laser Surface Texturing

Laser surface texturing significantly improves the corrosion resistance and mechanical strength of 3D‐printed iron polylactic acid (Ir‐PLA) for marine applications. Optimal laser parameters reduce corrosion by 80% and enhance tensile strength by 25% and ductility by 15%.

Design and implementation of a blade-type linear Paul trap [PDF]

In this work, we present the design, construction, and characterization of a linear Paul trap in a blade configuration. The trap was optimized to minimize micromotion and enable the formation of linear ion chains comprising tens of ions.
