THE OPTIMAL DURATION FOR A TRAVEL SURVEY

open access: yesIATSS Research, 2009
Empirical observations were carried out using a six-week travel survey, Mobidrive, in order to probe into the optimal duration problem of a single wave travel survey.

Microbiome−host proteostasis crosstalk—An emerging perspective on mechanisms and interventions toward healthy longevity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.

The geography of inequalities in access to healthcare across England: the role of bus travel time variability

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Complexity
Fair access to healthcare facilities is fundamental to achieving social equity. Traditional travel time-based accessibility measures often overlook the dynamic nature of travel times resulting from different departure times, which compromises the ...

Using Data Mining to Analyze Dwell Time and Nonstop Running Time in Road-Based Mass Transit Systems

open access: yesProceedings, 2018
Travel Time plays a key role in the quality of service in road-based mass transit systems. In this type of mass transit systems, travel time of a public transport line is the sum of the dwell time at each bus stop and the nonstop running time between ...

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Forecasting travel time variability [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In order to incorporate travel time variability in appraisal, methods are needed to predict effects on travel time variability of investments and polity measures. The present study is a first step towards developing such a method.

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Variability versus stability in daily travel and activity behaviour. The case of a one week travel diary [PDF]

open access: yes
Temporal rhythms in travel and activity patterns are analysed thanks to a seven-day travel diary collected on 707 individuals in the city of Ghent (Belgium) in 2008.

Modeling Time-Varying Variability and Reliability of Freeway Travel Time Using Functional Principal Component Analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
This paper presents an aproach for modeling travel time variability and reliability that accounts for time-of-day effects on travel time variations. The conditional probability density functions of travel time in each specific period play a fundamental ...
