Growth Performance of Three Native Tree Species for Pulpwood Plantation in Drained Peatland of Pelalawan District, Riau [PDF]
The productivity of exotic species developed in pulpwood plantations in Indonesia (HTI-pulp) has been continuously decreasing. On the other side, there is a possibility to develop several promising native tree species in peatland HTI-pulp plantations ...

Sustainable use and conservation of Vitex doniana Sweet: unlocking the propagation ability using stem cuttings [PDF]
One of the major constraints for domesticating widely used wild tree resources by local communities is the lack of adequate propagation techniques.

Low‐cycle fatigue damage in Mn–Mo–Ni reactor pressure vessel steel is examined using a combined electron backscatter diffraction and positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy approach. The study correlates texture evolution, dislocation substructure development, and vacancy‐type defect formation across uniform, necked, and fracture regions, providing

Stabilization of L‐PBF Ni50.7Ti49.3 under low‐cycle loading was investigated. Recoverable strain after cycling was dependent on the amount of applied load. Recovery ratio was 53.4% and 35.1% at intermediate and high load, respectively. The maximum total strain reached 10.3% at a high load of 1200 MPa.

Individual leaf area (LA) is a key variable in studies of tree ecophysiology because it directly influences light interception, photosynthesis and evapotranspiration of adult trees and seedlings. We analyzed the leaf dimensions (length – L and width – W)

The limited contribution of large trees to biomass dynamics in an old-growth tropical forest [PDF]
Although the importance of large trees regarding biodiversity and carbon stock in old-growth forests is undeniable, their annual contribution to biomass dynamics and carbon uptake remains poorly studied at the stand level.

JUST fifty years ago I was at school in Salisbury. I have only visited it once since until last week, when I had the unique pleasure of rambling over the old but familiar haunts, of course including Old Sarum. On mounting the outer ring of the well-known mound from the Stratford side, a beech tree in the bottom of the ditch reminded me that it was just

A combined finite element and phase‐field approach predicts the evolution of microstructure during the directional solidification of Ni‐based superalloys. The model reveals how withdrawal rate, temperature gradient, and wall thickness control the dendrite spacing, highlighting the strong effect of surface regions in thin sections where dendrite growth ...
