Tregs in Autoimmune Uveitis

2021
Uveitis is a chronic disease with relapsing and remitting ocular attack, which requires corticosteroids and systemic immunosuppression to prevent severe vision loss. Classically, uveitis is referred to an autoimmune disease, mediated by pro-inflammatory Th17 cells and immunosuppressive CD4+CD25+FoxP3+ T-regulatory cells (Tregs).

Cyclophosphamide, DCs, and Tregs

Blood, 2010
Certain chemotherapeutics are now known to augment host immunity by acting on DCs. In this issue of Blood , Nakahara and colleagues demonstrate a unique pharmacologic activity of CTX to selectively eliminate the lymphoid tissue-resident CD8+ DC subset in mice.[1][1] Although chemotherapeutic ...

Platelets suppress Treg recruitment

Blood, 2010
Apart from their canonical role in thrombosis and hemostasis, platelets amplify acute and chronic inflammation including atherosclerosis, and regulate the development and remodeling of blood and lymph vessels in health and disease. In this issue of Blood , Lievens and colleagues show evidence that activated platelets expressing CD40L promote ...

Treg

2018
The heterogeneity and plasticity of T lymphocytes is critical for determining immune response outcomes. Functional regulatory T (Treg) cells are commonly characterized by stable FOXP3 expression and have reported to exhibit heterogeneous phenotypes under inflammatory conditions.

Treg cells in autoimmunity: from identification to Treg-based therapies

Seminars in Immunopathology, 2019
Regulatory (Treg) cells are key regulators of inflammation and important for immune tolerance and homeostasis. A major progress has been made in the identification and classification of Treg cells. Due to technological advances, we have gained deep insights in the epigenetic regulation of Treg cells. The use of fate reporter mice allowed addressing the

Myeloma wrecks Treg?

Blood, 2006
Comment on Prabhala et al, page [300][1] Multiple myeloma is associated with a deranged immune system, which is thought to be attributed to myeloma infiltration and interference of the bone marrow.
