Comparative study on dry wear and tribocorrosion behavior of boronized martensitic stainless steels
The tribocorrosion behavior of boronized 13Cr4Ni and 16Cr5Ni martensitic stainless steels (MSS) in 3.5 weight percent NaCl is examined in this work. Samples were tempered at 600 °C for two hours and boronized at 950 and 1000°C for six hours.

ABSTRACT As dual mobility hips become more popular, there is a clinical need to investigate design features that will impact tribocorrosion of these devices. While previous studies have investigated both corrosion and wear damage, the effect of device size on fretting corrosion response has yet to be evaluated. In this study, we compare two implants of

Tribocorrosion Behavior of Medium-Entropy Super Austenitic Stainless Steel in Acidic Environments
Although extensive studies have examined the tribocorrosion behavior of stainless steels, the performance of medium-entropy austenitic super stainless steels (MEASS) under severe combined corrosion and mechanical wear conditions has not been fully ...

Study of Tribocorrosion Processes by Electrochemical Techniques
Tribocorrosion is defined as the chemical-electrochemical-mechanical process leading to a degradation of materials in sliding, rolling or erosion contacts immersed in a corrosive environment. That degradation results from the combined action of corrosion

Marine wear and tribocorrosion
Abstract As the use of marine systems grows and the requirements for seawater lubrication grows, the performance of key marine alloys used in propulsion, bearings and mechanical seals is under scrutiny. For example, the increased use and size of bulk carriers and ocean liners requires performance of propellers to be better understood and cavitation ...
