Solvation chemistry in liquid electrolytes for rechargeable lithium batteries at low temperatures

open access: yesEcoEnergy, EarlyView.
This review discusses the solvation chemistry of the electrolyte in lithium batteries (LBs) at low temperature (LT). It highlights the Li+ solvation chemistry in LBs at LT, including the properties of the solvent, the solvation structure of Li+, strategies of tuning solvation chemistry via solvents/lithium salts, and characterization techniques of ...

Synthesis and Structure of a Metal Rich Tetradecagallium Cluster with a Polyhedral Core

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Accepted Article.
Ga14(hypersilyl)6 [hypersilyl = Si(SiMe3)3] is a novel metal rich and polyhedral cluster compound with an unprecedented structure in gallium chemistry. The gallium atoms form an omnicapped cube, meaning six gallium hypersilyl units are capping the faces of a Ga8 cube.

Solid State Structures of Three Zinc(II) Coordination Polymers with 3‐(1H‐Imidazol‐1‐yl)propanoate Linkers Prepared in Water

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Accepted Article.
Coordination polymers of zinc(II) with three readily accessible 3‐(1H‐imidazol‐1‐yl)propanoate ligands are prepared by combining aqueous solutions of the ligands and zinc(II) salts, resulting in a precipitation of the respective coordination polymers.
