Ultra‐High Molecular Weight Polydimethylsiloxane Bottlebrushes From Norbornene‐Pyrrolidine Capped Macromonomers

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, EarlyView.
We report the synthesis of polydimethylsiloxane bottlebrush polymers exceeding 20 000 000 g/mol using ring‐opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP). Macromonomers are crafted through anionic ring‐opening polymerization initiated by a novel norbornene‐pyrrolidine aryllithium compound.

Interdisciplinary approaches to enhance sensory properties and consumer acceptance in pulse crops

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
Enhancing the flavor profile of pulse crops such as chickpea, dry pea, and lentil is essential for increasing human acceptance of plant‐based diets. Despite their nutritional value, undesirable sensory attributes of pulses, including off‐flavors and bitterness, reduce consumer acceptance.

Functional polymer materials containing heavy group‐14 elements focusing on germanium and tin

open access: yesSmart Molecules, EarlyView.
The synthesis, functions, and applications of the polymers containing heavy group 14 elements focusing on germanium and tin are outlined. Owing to their large atomic radii and weak binding energies, the polymers show unique properties: chromism, luminescence, carrier mobility, and reactivity to produce radials and higher coordinated states.
