INTRASPECIFIC DIVERSITY OF DURUM WHEAT (TRITICUM DURUM DESF.)

2022
The system of the genus Triticum L. developed at the Department of Wheat Genetic Resources of VIR and published in the monograph “Flora of Cultivated Plants. Wheat”. belongs to a number of the main modern classifications of the genus Triticum L. This was the first standardized classification that contained all known intraspecific taxa of wild and ...

Genetic polymorphism of durum wheat (Triticum durum Desf.) accessions of azerbaijan

Russian Journal of Genetics, 2015
The genetic diversity of 110 durum wheat genotypes of Azerbaijan was evaluated by ISSR markers. A total of 107 fragments were determined, ranging from 9 to 18 per locus. ISSR primers have revealed a high level of polymorphism (average 82%) among different durum wheat varieties and botanical varieties.

Somaclonal Variation in Durum Wheat (Triticum durum Desf.)

1990
In the shadow of bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), the other wheat crop, hard or durum wheat (Triticum durum Desf.) plays a secondary role as the source of semolina, the raw material of pasta products (see Bennici 1986). However, in contrast to the slowly diminishing bread consumption, there is a gradually growing demand for the durum-based foods ...

Occurrence of moniliformin, deoxynivalenol, and zearalenone in durum wheat (Triticum durum Desf.)

Mycotoxin Research, 1995
Forty-eight durum wheat samples from 5 locations in Austria were examined forFusarium infection andFusarium toxin content.F.gramlnearum andF.avenaceum were by far the prevailingFusarium species In durum wheat kernels, followed byEpoae, F.culmorum, andF.equlsetl.

Regeneration and Genetic Transformation Systems of Durum Wheat, Triticum durum

Journal of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Biotechnology, 2018
Wheat is a major cereal crop for humans but quite recalcitrant in transformation. Establishment of regeneration system in wheat using immature embryos is not easy and time/cost-consuming. Herein, we developed a regeneration and transformation system using mature seeds in four pasta wheat cultivars.

Long-term optimized embryogenic cultures in durum wheat (Triticum durum Desf.)

Plant Cell Reports, 1991
Five varieties of durum wheat: Appulo, Ofanto, Latino, Creso, and Castello (Triticum durum Desf.) adapted to the semi-arid mediterranean environment have been tested for their in vitro response. Compact, embryogenic, highly regenerable calli originated from primary callus derived through proliferation of the scutellum of immature embryos explanted in ...

EST-SSR DNA polymorphism in durum wheat (Triticum durum L.) collections

Journal of Applied Genetics, 2007
SSRs derived from EST were molecular markers belonging to the transcribed region of the genome. Therefore, any polymorphism detected using EST-SSRs might reflect the better relationship among species or varieties. Using wheat EST-SSR markers, 60 durum wheat (Triticum durum L.) accessions from seven countries were investigated.

Mapping of QTL associated with seed longevity in durum wheat (Triticum durum Desf.)

Journal of Applied Genetics, 2018
Regeneration cycle of seeds kept at genebanks is determined by seed longevity. Information about longevity of species is important for storage periods, germination test intervals, and reproduction cycles. Seed longevity is different between species and depends on the storage conditions. It also differs between genotypes of a species providing the basis

Catalogue of alleles of gliadin-coding loci in durum wheat (Triticum durum Desf.)

Biochimie, 2012
Gliadins are seed storage proteins which are characterized by high intervarietal polymorphism and can be used as genetic markers. As a result of our work, a considerably extended catalogue of allelic variants of gliadin component blocks was compiled for durum wheat; 74 allelic variants for four gliadin-coding loci were identified for the first time ...

High-throughput SNP discovery and genotyping in durum wheat (Triticum durum Desf.)

Theoretical and Applied Genetics, 2011
We describe the application of complexity reduction of polymorphic sequences (CRoPS(®)) technology for the discovery of SNP markers in tetraploid durum wheat (Triticum durum Desf.). A next-generation sequencing experiment was carried out on reduced representation libraries obtained from four durum cultivars.
