The genetics of tropaeolum majus

Journal of Genetics, 1936
1. The inheritance of 13 genes inTropaeolum majus has been studied. 2. These genes include: Three controlling morphological characters (B, I, D). Three controlling leaf colour (V, X, Y). Seven controlling flower colour, (1) plastids (P, Q), (2) anthocyanin (A, G, R, S, L). 3.

Early embryogenesis in Tropaeolum majus L.: Diversification of plastids

Planta, 1976
Embryogeny in the nasturtium is characterized by the development of a large, tripartite suspensor and storing cotyledons. A light and electron microscopic study revealed an early diversification of the plastids in the various regions of the suspensor and the embryo proper.

Chromoplasts of Tropaeolum majus L.: Structure and development

Planta, 1976
The fine structure of chromoplasts in epidermal cells of flower petals of Tropaeolum has been investigated by light, polarizing, and electron microscopy at different stages of development. The pale greenish-yellow petals still enclosed in the bud contain barely differentiated chloroplasts with few, irregular grana.

Chromoplasts of Tropaeolum majus L.: Isolation and characterization of lipoprotein elements

Planta, 1976
Chromoplasts of unfolding petals of Tropaeolum majus contain large amounts of filaments (which, in sections, appear as tubules), and unevenshaped, isodiametric to elongated bodies (IBs). These structural elements are the major sites of the chromoplast pigments.

Xyloglucan (amyloid) formation in the cotyledons of Tropaeolum majus L. seeds

Plant Cell Reports, 1986
Mature seeds of Tropaeolum majus L. contain the cell wall polysaccharide xyloglucan (amyloid), protein and lipid as storage substances. The transitory occurrence of starch during the process of seed development could be substantiated.[U-(14)C]-labelled xylose, glucose and glucuronic acid were fed to ripening seeds and the incorporation of radioactivity

Keimungsverhalten der Kapuzinerkresse Tropaeolum majus L.

2023
This bachelor thesis focuses on different priming techniques for Tropaeolum majus (T. majus) seeds reaching from mechanical scarification to cold stratification. Furthermore, chemical stratification by using different concentrations of sulfuric acid (H2SO4) (0 %, 47.5 %, 95 %) for three different soak times (5 min, 10 min, 30 min) were also conducted ...
