ABSTRACT Background Pulsed field ablation (PFA) is a novel, non‐thermal ablation modality to achieve pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) for the treatment of atrial fibrillation (AF). For the pentaspline catheter, eight applications per pulmonary vein (PV) are considered standard, with four in basket configuration and four in flower configuration.

ABSTRACT Background Pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) using thermal energy—radiofrequency (RF) or cryoablation (CRYO)—is associated with direct myocardial injury and collateral neural damage. In contrast, pulsed electric field (PEF) energy has emerged as a neural‐sparing alternative.

ABSTRACT Background Point‐of‐care testing (POC) is widely utilized for rapid results for many different analytes. A new feline‐specific N‐terminal pro‐brain natriuretic peptide (NT‐proBNP) quantitative assay (Vcheck V200, Bionote Inc) is currently available but has not undergone independent validation.
