Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

ES-TRNG: A High-throughput, Low-area True Random Number Generator based on Edge Sampling

open access: yesTransactions on Cryptographic Hardware and Embedded Systems, 2018
In this paper we present a novel true random number generator based on high-precision edge sampling. We use two novel techniques to increase the throughput and reduce the area of the proposed randomness source: variable-precision phase encoding and ...

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

Efficient hardware implementation and analysis of true random‐number generator based on beta source

open access: yesETRI Journal, 2020
This paper presents an efficient hardware random‐number generator based on a beta source. The proposed generator counts the values of “0” and “1” and provides a method to distinguish between pseudo‐random and true random numbers by comparing them using ...

A True Random Number Generator Based on Gait Data for the Internet of You

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
The Internet of Things (IoT) is more and more a reality, and every day the number of connected objects increases. The growth is practically exponential -there are currently about 8 billion and expected to reach 21 billion in 2025.

A Morphable Physically Unclonable Function and True Random Number Generator Using a Commercial Magnetic Memory

open access: yesJournal of Low Power Electronics and Applications, 2021
We use commercial magnetic memory to realize morphable security primitives, a Physically Unclonable Function (PUF) and a True Random Number Generator (TRNG).

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

A Novel True Random Number Generator in Near Field Communication as Memristive Wireless Power Transmission

open access: yesJ, 2021
The security of powering systems has been a major problem over the last decade, leading to an increased interest in wireless power and data transfer. In this research paper, a new inductive Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) circuit topology has been used. In

Applicability of mitotic figure counting by deep learning: a development and pan‐cancer validation study

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In this study, we developed a deep learning method for mitotic figure counting in H&E‐stained whole‐slide images and evaluated its prognostic impact in 13 external validation cohorts from seven different cancer types. Patients with more mitotic figures per mm2 had significantly worse patient outcome in all the studied cancer types except colorectal ...
