Calorimetry of Some Trypsin-Trypsin Inhibitor Reactions

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1972
The heats of reaction of trypsin with soybean (Kunitz), ovomucoid, and lima bean inhibitors have been measured at pH 5.0 and 10° and 25°. All the reactions were endothermic, with ΔH ranging from 8.6 Cal per mole for the lima bean inhibitor to 15.3 Cal per mole for the soybean inhibitor. Equilibrium constants for the association were calculated from the

Variability of antinutritive compounds in flaxseed flours

open access: yesInternational Journal of Plant Biology, 2013
The use of flaxseed flours in the diets of poultry and broilers may be limited by the presence of antinutritive compounds. The content of cyanogenic glycosides, phytic acid, condensed tannins and trypsin inhibitors was evaluated in seven varieties of ...

Engineering trypsin for inhibitor resistance [PDF]

open access: yesProtein Science, 2015
AbstractThe development of effective protease therapeutics requires that the proteases be more resistant to naturally occurring inhibitors while maintaining catalytic activity. A key step in developing inhibitor resistance is the identification of key residues in protease‐inhibitor interaction. Given that majority of the protease therapeutics currently

Effects of specific inhibitors on the gene expression of a digestive trypsin in Pieris brassicae L. (Lepidoptera: Pieridae)

open access: yesJournal of Plant Protection Research, 2018
Protein digestion in insects relies on several groups of proteases, among which trypsin plays a prominent role. In the current study, larvae of Pieris brassicae L.

The Effect of TiO2-Nanoparticle on the Activity and Stability of Trypsin in Aqueous Medium [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Nanostructures, 2018
Trypsin (E.C.3.4.21.4) is a serine protease commonly used in proteomics for digestion of proteins. In the present study, the effect of nano-TiO2 on the conformation and catalytic activity of trypsin were studied.

Trypsin Inhibitor in Wholewheat Flour [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 1961
PRELIMINARY work on a trypsin inhibitor in wholewheat flour was reported by Shyamala1. A crude concentrate containing the trypsin inhibitor was prepared by the ‘ammonium sulphate’ method of Borchers et al.2 modified by Lyman3 as follows:

Partial characterization of the digestive proteases and α-amylase of the larvae of the red palm weevil, Rhynchophorus ferrugineus [PDF]

open access: yesArthropods, 2020
Activity of digestive enzymes (trypsin, chymotrypsin and α-amylase) in soluble protein extracted from the larval gut of Rhynchophorus ferrugineus was studied using specific substrates and enzyme inhibitors.

Partial purification of trypsin inhibitors from Parkia seeds (Fabaceae)

open access: yesHoehnea
Leguminous seeds (Fabaceae) have a high content of inhibitors of which serine protease inhibitors are the most widely studied. However, there are only a few studies related to the investigation of these proteins in tree species belonging to the Amazon ...
